Deborah Horcher-Shramovich, M.S.W. LICENSED CLINICAL SOCIAL WORKER TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE Deborah (Deb) focused her undergraduate and graduate studies in Social Work at Aurora University: George Williams College of Social Work. She graduated with a Masters in Social Work in 2004. She earned her Clinical Social Work Licensure (LCSW) in March 2007. Her clinical experience includes ten years working in Community Agencies in Elgin, IL. Her experience includes case management, counseling, crisis intervention, volunteer sexual assault advocacy, supervisor, case coordinator, and therapist. She has seven years of experience at a Community Crisis Center working in a residential setting with women, children and adolescents experiencing domestic abuse, sexual assault, and economic crisis. Her experience also included working with non-residential adults in psychological and/or economic crisis providing supportive counseling, crisis intervention, and referral to appropriate resources. Her work at Community Crisis Center sparked her interest in mental health. During her graduate studies she participated in an internship at Ecker Center for Mental Health focusing on therapeutic interventions. She was employed at Ecker as a Therapist and Case Coordinator from 2004 to 2010 helping people with anxiety disorders, depression and mood spectrum disorders, self-esteem issues, anger/emotional issues, bi-polar disorder, trauma related symptoms, PTSD, Dissociative Disorders (including Dissociative Identity Disorder), personality disorders, Schizophrenia, and Schizoaffective Disorder, as well as grief and loss issues. Her experience at community agencies helping people wanting to improve their well-being and mental health, skillfully blended the interplay between trauma and mental health. Her knowledge, skills, and understanding of the treatment of mild to severe mental health issues and trauma based symptoms continue to expand. Deb utilizes an integrative approach using cutting edge and evidence-based therapies with children as young as seven, adolescents, adults, couples, and families, to help achieve healthy outcomes and optimal functioning. Therapies include, but are not limited to: Client Centered, Cognitive-Behavioral, Solution Focused, Motivational Interviewing, Narrative, and Psycho-dynamic. Deb specializes in the spectrum of Mood Disorders, Anxiety Disorders, PTSD, Dissociative Disorders, Emotional problems, Grief and Loss, Domestic Violence and Relationship Difficulties, Parenting, Child and Adolescent Issues, and Self-Esteem/Performance issues. Deb is trained in EMDR Level II through the EMDR Institute, and Dissociative Disorders through the International Society for the Study of Dissociation and Trauma. She is a member of International Society for the Study of Dissociation and Trauma, and participates in the Evanston, IL Chapter as a member and board member serving as secretary. Web resources:
