Rebecca Leifeld, M.A., L.C.P.C. TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE Rebecca Leifeld received her Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology – Northwest Chicago Campus in 2001. She earned her Clinical Professional Counselor Licensure (LCPC) December 2003. Her clinical experience includes ten years working in Community Mental Health at agencies in Arlington Heights and McHenry, Illinois. She participated in an internship during her Bachelor of Arts Program at a Residential Treatment Facility in Lake Villa, Illinois, providing counseling services to children and adolescents with behavioral difficulties. Rebecca also worked as a Mental Health Specialist during her Masters Program at a Residential Treatment Center in Benet Lake, Wisconsin. She provided individual, group, and family counseling services to adolescents with emotional and behavioral challenges. Rebecca completed her Masters Internship at a Community Mental Health Center working with adults who suffered from depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, personality disorders, oppositional defiant behaviors, and eating disorders. Rebecca’s professional experience includes counseling with children, adolescents, and adults with various mental health diagnoses. She is also a certified instructor with the American Fitness Association of America (AFAA) and educates a variety of populations on the importance of exercise and nutrition on emotional and physical health. Rebecca incorporates her knowledge of Psychology and Fitness into her practice and has extensive experience integrating the mind and body to achieve optimal health and wellness. Rebecca utilizes evidence-based therapies with individuals and families to help them achieve mood stability and balance their lives. She provides the following evidence-based therapies (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Family Systems, Motivational Interviewing and Client-Centered Therapy) for individuals diagnosed with Mood Disorders, Anxiety Disorders, and difficulty with Emotional Eating Behaviors. In addition, Rebecca has been trained in the TIP Model (Transition to Independence Process), which is an evidence-based therapy to help Transitional Youth ages 18-23 years old reduce emotional pain and utilize their strengths to achieve future goals. Lastly, Rebecca has been trained in the evidence-based therapy "The Incredible Years", which focuses on the attachment bond between children and parents and incorporates a curriculum-based skills training for families.
