LICENSED CLINICAL SOCIAL WORKER Early Intervention Credentialed Registered Play Therapist TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE Vicki Marcum is a licensed clinical social worker with a Masters in Community Health from Northern Illinois University and a Masters In Social Work from the University of Illinois. She completed clinical internships working with DCFS wards in foster placement for abuse/neglect, with adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse and SASS (screening, assessment and support services) providing assessment, and treatment to children/adolescents prior to and post hospitalization. She received her LCSW in 1995, and earned credentials to provide Early Intervention Services in 2006. She is a registered play therapist with the Association 4 Play Therapy, with over 200 hours training in directive and non directive evidenced based therapeutic play based approaches for treating abuse/neglect, grief/loss, divorce, mood disorders, behavior disorders and trauma with both children and adults using Client Centered, Cognitive Behavioral, Familial approaches. She blends art, music, craft and sand tray to support the healing process. Clinical experience includes individual, family, and group therapies for children and adults in both inpatient and outpatient psychiatric settings, including Intensive and Extended Day Treatment Programs, and In Home Services. She has conducted groups on topics including Depression/Anxiety, Substance Abuse and Co-dependence, Self Esteem, Socialization, Interpersonal Communication/Assertiveness, Adult Survivor Issues and Women social support. She has been trained in DBT and EMDR. She has provided supervision to MSW graduates completing requirement for LCSW licensing exams and served on numerous committee including Personnel and Strategic Planning. She has provided education and training to community agencies on numerous topics including assertiveness, play therapy and sleep disorders.
